Meet
Aadhya Sharma.

Aadhya's journey with dance began at the age of five. While growing up in Arizona, she learned from Anitha, Preeti Anand, and Nitha Malya. Each teacher helped shape her early years in dance and encouraged the love for Bharatanatyam that has stayed with her ever since.

Her family moved from Arizona to Frisco in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Even as classes and performances moved online, Aadhya's passion never faded. She continued learning from a distance for nearly a year, showing the same discipline and dedication from home that she brought to the studio.

After settling in North Texas, she joined Arohana Academy of Performing Arts under Guru Smt. Deepa Kamath. For the past five years, she has continued her training with patience and commitment, growing in technique, expression, and confidence with her guru's guidance.

Along the way, Aadhya has performed and competed at national events, earning several prizes for her dance. Her creativity also reaches beyond the stage: she has a deep love for art and has received several state-level awards for her artwork.

This Arangetram marks a meaningful milestone in her artistic and personal growth—both as a dancer and as a young woman. Aadhya recognizes how special this opportunity is and that none of it would have been possible without the immense support of her family and guru.

Thank you for being here on this special occasion. We hope you enjoy her performance and continue to shower her with your blessings and support.

Guru Smt.
Deepa Kamath.

Guru Smt. Deepa Kamath was initiated into Bharathanatyam by her mother, Smt. Jayalakshmi Kamath, in 1986 under the tutelage of Guru Sri Raju Datar. In 1994, she became his first student to present a Rangapravesha at Ravindra Kalakshetra, Bengaluru—an event honored by the Chief Minister of Karnataka and several cultural dignitaries.

She went on to perform at prestigious stages across India, including ICCR events, temple festivals, government programs, IT and media showcases. Her artistry also extended to television, where she acted in serials aired on Doordarshan.

A Vidwat holder in Bharathanatyam, she also holds an E&C degree in Engineering and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Communication, specializing in Marketing. After nearly a decade in the IT industry, she fully dedicated herself to classical art.

Her training under The Kirans at Rasika Arts Foundation deepened her expression and led her to adopt the elegant Vazhuvoor style.

In 2002, she founded Arohana Academy of Performing Arts with a vision to blend disciplined training with creative exploration. Arohana is now a center for excellence in Bharathanatyam, Nattuvangam and Indian folk dances.
